This course is designed to provide students with a wide array of dimensions ranging from national education and national security education, leadership with compassion and empathy, social responsibility, good citizenship, positive education and psychological well-being, as well as personal characteristics. All new students at CityUHK are required to complete this course during their first year.

Students are expected to complete all four components from the below:

  1. National Education – Understanding Basic Legal Concepts
  2. Civic Education – Visit to the National Security Exhibition Gallery
  3. Competency Development (complete at least 2 out of the following 5 areas):
    a.  Professional Industry Exploration
    b.  Leadership Competency
    c.  Life Skills Workshop Series
    d.  Physical Fitness Course
    e.  Recognised Talks on Competency
  4. Academic Advising and Study Plan
