The course first explores the nature of light and imagery including innovative ways used by scientists to visualize our universe. The basics of human vision, image formation and interpretation in the context of magic, art and special effects are then explored as is a multidisciplinary approach between creative media and mathematics. Finally the social, cultural and legal impact of images as powerful tool for mass communication is discussed.
