2026 Internship Scheme for Students with Disabilitiess
Introduction
The Government of HKSAR is calling for the application of the Summer Internship Scheme 2026. It provides a few vacancies for students with SEN.
Eligibility
To be qualified for nomination, the applicant should :
(i) be a permanent resident of the HKSAR at the time when the placement is offered to the intern;
(ii) be a non-final year student with disability studying a full-time Bachelor’s degree, associate degree or higher diploma course or equivalent (below Master degree level) in a local tertiary institution; and
(iii) submit together with the application form (at Annex B), an essay of not more than 300 words (either in Chinese or English) on why he/she applies for the Scheme and what he/she would like to achieve from it.
Details
To better equip our students with SEN’s career preparation and skills, the applicants are required to attend the compulsory trainings before and during the internship scheme. Dates 1. CityUHK internal application deadline 21 January 2026 (Wednesday) 2. 8-hour Interview Skills Training Workshop[Compulsory] 24 January, 7 February, 14 February , 14 March 2026 (Saturdays) 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. 3. One-on-One Individual Coaching for Internship[Compulsory] March – June 2026 4. 5-hour Business Communication and Written Etiquette workshop[Compulsory] 14 May 2026 (Thursday) 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. 5. 4-hour Effective workplace communication for internship[Compulsory] 11 June 2026 (Thursday) 2:30 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. 6. Start of Internship[Compulsory] - 15 June 2026 (Mon) – 7 August 2026 (Fri); or - 29 June 2026 (Mon) – 21 August 2026 (Fri) 7. Mid- internship focus group[Compulsory] 11 July 2026 (Saturday) 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. 8. One on One CV consultations[Compulsory] August 2026 *A refundable deposit of HKD$100 is required to join the compulsory training programme. The deposit will be returned if you achieve at least 80% attendance. Collection details will be provided after your application is received.
