Dr. Kaixin LIN
Postdoctoral Researcher, School of Energy and Environment,
City University of Hong Kong

Dr. Lin Kaixin received his BEng degree from College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering at Hunan University, followed by an MSc degree in Intelligent Building Technology and Management from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a PhD degree from School of Energy and Environment at City University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Lin’s research focuses on the development and application of advanced and sustainable thermal management strategies to address the growing concern on energy consumption. More specific research interests include passive thermal regulation materials, bio-inspired structure design, radiative heat transfer and large-scale energy performance assessment.

During the doctoral studies just completed, Dr. Lin has authored over 15 peer-reviewed research publications (5 as the first author) featured in prestigious journals, with one of his works featured in Science. His research on scalable and multifunctional radiative cooling materials impose significance to bridge the gap between fundamental research and industry. Based on the research outcomes, he has filed over 5 international and/or local patents. Beyond lab, he has been honored for his innovations through various national and international competitions, such as Hong Kong University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, “Maker in China” SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Global Contest and Inventions Geneva Evaluation Days.
