ABSTRACT
In this talk, I would like to share my experience in scientific training, technology development and legal practice, as well as the several transitions along the journey. I will also share my experience as a corporate lawyer practicing in greater China area in the past decade.
BIOGRAPHY
Meng Ding received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, both in physics, from Peking University. He received a Ph.D. in Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Earlier in his career, he was a high-tech R&D technologist in Silicon Valley, first working at IBM Almaden Research Center and later at Advanced Micro Devices. He then received a J.D. from University of California at Berkeley, School of Law. He is now a partner at the US-headquartered global law firm Sidley Austin’s Hong Kong office, where he focuses on advising issuers and investment banks on capital market transactions, including U.S. and Hong Kong IPOs.
Dr. Ding is an inventor/co-inventor of 32 issued U.S. patents.
