It’s been a while since our last PHY Student Connect tea gathering, a tradition that unites students and faculty members to exchange ideas. Some students may remember the series of gatherings fondly. This academic year, we’re excited to bring back the Welcome Gathering after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic. The gathering, held on the third Monday of September, received overwhelming support from our students and faculty members.

We were delighted to have our Department Head, Professor Yang Ren, share a few words with us at the very beginning of the gathering. Professor Ren welcomed all the participants, especially the new students, and he was overjoyed to see all these happy faces. Then, students relished the opportunity to connect with classmates and gain insights from senior students. They also took advantage of this special occasion to converse with our faculty members about their academic interests and pursuits. Delicious food and drinks were prepared for everyone to enjoy during their conversations.

We hope all participants felt comfortable engaging in discussions and sharing their university experiences. The Welcome Tea Gathering is just the beginning. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next gathering soon!
