CityUHK Showcases Cutting-Edge Innovations at 2025 University Technology Fair, Three Projects Selected for Spotlight Presentation

Hong Kong City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) presented a robust portfolio of 12 innovative research projects at the recent 2025 University Technology Fair, demonstrating its interdisciplinary strengths and commitment to translating research into impactful solutions. Three of these projects were honoured with a selection to present at the dedicated “Hong Kong and Macao Universities Roadshow Session.”

The University’s exhibit featured a diverse range of forward-looking technologies with significant application potential across key sectors. These included projects in advanced equipment, biomedicine, new materials, green technology, biomanufacturing, new energy storage, and generative artificial intelligence.

The three projects chosen for the high-profile roadshow session represented CityUHK’s research excellence in addressing real-world challenges. They covered areas such as health-monitoring diagnostics, advanced medical restoration, and assistive rehabilitation devices, drawing keen interest from industry representatives and investors.

CityUHK leadership was actively involved in the fair’s proceedings. Prof. Chin Foo GOH, Associate Vice-President (Mainland Industry); Prof. MA Mun Thoh, Director of Knowledge Transfer; Prof. Shiming ZHANG, Professor of Practice at CityUHK (Dongguan); Dr. Xing TAN, Manager of Research Administration at CityUHK (Dongguan); and Dr. Angela NIU, Assistant Director of Knowledge Transfer, attended the plenary conference and engaged with participants to explore collaborative opportunities.

“Platforms like this technology fair are instrumental in bridging the gap between academic research and industry application,” said Prof. GOH. “The strong presence and recognition of our projects underscore CityUHK’s role as a hub for innovation. We are committed to fostering an ecosystem that supports our researchers and start-ups through initiatives like HK Tech 300, and to deepening our collaboration with mainland partners to commercialise technologies that benefit society.”
