City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) and the University of Cambridge solidified their commitment to mutual cooperation by signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in academic and research collaboration. Professor Freddy Boey, CityUHK President, led a high-level delegation to the University of Cambridge and attended the MoUs signing.

Professor Xin Wang, Dean of the College of Science (CSCI) at CityUHK, and Professor Clemens Kaminski, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, signed a MoU focused on joint research and scholarship collaborations in May 2024. This agreement aims to foster collaborative research and development between CSCI and Cambridge's Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.

Another MoU signed between CityUHK and the University of Cambridge on 3 July will further foster global academic and research collaborations. Building on the academic partnerships established in May, the MoU was signed by Professor Yang Ren, Head of the Department of Physics at CityUHK, and Professor Jason Robinson, Joint Head of the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge. The signing was witnessed by Professor Kevin Downing, Secretary to the Council at CityUHK, and Professor Dame Madeleine Atkins, President of Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge.

The MoU will facilitate collaborative education, research development and commercialisation opportunities between CityUHK and the University of Cambridge.
