Kudos

Professor Alan Wan Tze-kin, Head of the Department of Management Sciences, has been elected President of the Hong Kong Statistical Society. He is the first President of HKSS in the last 20 years who is from CityU instead of other universities of Hong Kong or the Census and Statistics Department, HKSAR Government. A graduate of both the University of Sydney and the University of Canterbury, he is an expert in model averaging and selection; varying-coefficient semi-parametric models; missing and censored data; and quantile regression.

Alumnus Mr Morgan Wong Wing-fat from the School of Creative Media (SCM) received the Award for Young Artist (Media Arts) at the 15th Hong Kong Arts Development Awards (HKADA), demonstrating once again SCM’s leading position in the media arts. Mr Wong graduated from SCM with a BA Creative Media in 2007 and since then he has featured prominently in several arts awards.
