This course discusses concepts, theories, issues, practices, and policies concerning families in the contemporary context. Specifically, it aims to identify and infer changing trends concerning families in Hong Kong; interpret factors impacting families; summarize implications for Hong Kong society; criticize the policy responses and devise creative solutions to the problems facing Hong Kong families; and identify and compare trends and features concerning family in selected societies.
