Course Aims

This course provides students with the opportunity to develop essential research skills and experience the life of a full-time researcher in either a research environment or an industrial setting overseas. Through this immersive experience, students will learn to:

  1. Integrate classroom knowledge and apply it in real-world contexts.
  2. Understand the importance of work ethics and professionalism.
  3. Collaborate effectively and appreciate team dynamics and organizational behavior.
  4. Gain insights into the operations of industry or research, helping them plan their future careers.
  5. Appreciate the cultural diversity of the host country, broadening their perspectives.

The course is conducted at partner companies or institutions overseas, where students receive joint supervision from both a mentor at the host organization and a supervisor from CityUHK. This collaborative approach enhances their learning and professional development.
