Course Aims

This course aims to expose students to new research in the fields of biomedicine / biomedical engineering. Students will attend research seminars for at least two semesters. Throughout the course, students will learn to think critically and creatively, apply and integrate knowledge acquired from other courses, deepen their understanding of biomedicine and engineering concepts, pose questions, and participate in scientific discourse.

Continuous Assessment: 100%
Min. Continuous Assessment Passing Requirement: 40%
 

Students will provide documentation of their research seminar attendance.


To pass a course, a student must do ALL of the following:

1) obtain at least 40% of the total marks allocated towards continuous assessment (combination of assignments, pop quizzes, term paper, lab reports and/ or quiz, if applicable);

2) obtain at least 40% of the total marks allocated towards final examination (if applicable); and

3) meet the criteria listed in the section on Assessment Rubrics.
