Course Aims | ||||||||
Neural interfaces are an emerging class of devices which electrically, chemically, or optically interact with the nervous system. Neural interfaces find uses in both research and clinic, aiding in our understanding of how the nervous system functions and in the treatment of conditions such as Parkinson's disease and spinal cord injury. This course will teach students about neural interfaces, covering concepts such as material choices, fabrication techniques, implant-tissue interactions, and neuronal recording and modulation as well as how these are implemented in interfacing devices. | ||||||||
