Course Aims

This course aims to introduce the laws and regulations relating to criminal liabilities and procedures in the PRC from a comparative perspective. It will provide a general understanding of the nature and function of criminal law and procedures in China. It will enable students to build up the basic skills necessary for both the recognition of and the solution of criminal problems in the PRC.

Examination: 50%
Examination Duration: 3 hours

Applicable to students admitted from Semester A 2022/23 to Summer Term 2024

Students must obtain a minimum mark of 50% in both coursework and examination and an overall mark of 50% in order to pass the course.

Applicable to students admitted before Semester A 2022/23 and in Semester A 2024/25 & thereafter

Students must obtain a minimum mark of 40% in both coursework and examination and an overall mark of 40% in order to pass the course.
