This course provides a theoretical and practical introduction to Electroencephalography (EEG) as a tool for linguistic research. It covers the neurophysiological origins of EEG signals, the logic of Event-Related Potentials (ERPs), and the time-frequency analysis of neural oscillations. Uniquely, this course includes a substantial hands-on component: students will learn to set up EEG equipment, apply electrodes, and collect high-quality data from human participants. Students will also gain practical experience in preprocessing data (artifact rejection, filtering) and analyzing standard linguistic components (e.g., N400, P600) using specialized software.
