This course aims to:
a. promote a global perspective on legal education among students with a view to enhancing their knowledge, understanding and skills relating to substantive legal issues;
b. provide students an experience of studying and living in a foreign jurisdiction with a view to understanding their legal system, culture and different institutional settings;
c. inculcate a sense of global understanding among law students which will benefit them in their professional careers;
d. create a global partnership among law schools in different parts of the world with a view to developing new perspectives on legal education;
e. identify courses and programmes on the basis of shared understanding and adaptability of the students of CityU to the particular foreign jurisdiction.

Again, although precise assessment tasks will be determined the visiting faculty and/or the course leader so as to ensure a proper alignment with CILOs and TLAs, few potential assessment tasks are specified below. Taking into account the nature of the subject and the duration of the course, the visiting faculty and/or the course leader will decide if the assessment will be wholly by coursework or by a combination of coursework and examination. The nature of examination (whether closed book or open book) will also be determined by the visiting faculty and/or the course leader. The exact assessment tasks will be notified to students at the beginning of the course.
