CityUHK SEE Commencement 2025: Honoring Achievement, Inspiring Futures

A vibrant atmosphere of ambition and achievement filled the hall on 10 June 2025, as the School of Energy and Environment (SEE) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) proudly celebrated SEE Commencement 2025, honoring the next generation of pioneers in energy and environmental sciences.

Prof. Benjamin Horton, Dean of SEE, officially declared the commencement open and addressed the audience with an inspiring speech. His remarks celebrated the graduates' achievements, acknowledged their commitment to tackling global environmental challenges, and encouraged them to lead with ambition, collaboration, and lifelong learning. He emphasized the urgency of climate action, reminding graduates of the profound impact they can make in shaping a more sustainable and resilient future.

This prestigious occasion saw graduates from Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Philosophy, Master of Science in Energy and Environment, Bachelor of Engineering in Energy Science and Engineering, and Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Science and Engineering stepping proudly onto the stage, celebrated for their perseverance and scholarly achievements.

One of the ceremony’s highlights was the Outstanding Final Year Project Award, recognizing the remarkable ingenuity and dedication of top students in their projects. This year’s winners included: Winner – Miss LAN Qingyang, 1st Runner-up – Miss CHUI Hoi Ching Kelly and 2nd Runner-up – Miss KWAN Yu Ching Cathy.

Following the awards, Miss WONG Hoi Ching Rachel, the graduate representative, delivered a heartfelt address, encapsulating the journey, challenges, and triumphs that shaped the Class of 2025. The graduates, together with faculty and guests, then gathered for a memorable group photo session, capturing the joy and promise of a new chapter ahead.
