HKRITA R&D Projects funded by ITF

Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA) is established with funding support from the Innovation and Technology Commission of the HKSAR Government. The Institute focuses on the following technology areas:

- New materials and textiles and apparel products
- Advanced textiles and clothing production technologies
- Innovative design and evaluation technologies
- Enhanced industrial systems and infrastructure

The Institute is now inviting applications for the following research and development programmes:

  • Platform Research Programme - The programme requires support from at least two industry sponsors with total cash or in-kind contribution of no less than 10% of the total project cost.
  • Collaborative Research Programme - Applications are open to private companies who should collaborate with a local public-funded research institution.

(a)Collaborative Research with Industry - a cash or in-kind contribution of no less than 50% of the total project cost of which at least 30% is required at the start of the project; or

(b)Collaborative Research with Research/Technology Partners - a combination of cash or in-kind contribution and the monetary value of background intellectual property right which equates to no less than 50% of the total project cost of which at least 30% is required at the start of the project.

Application Submission

Applicants should submit to HKRITA via RO (email:roger@cityu.edu.hk; tel: 3442-6278) a powerpoint presentation which identifies the key features of the project proposal.  Only the shortlisted proposals by HKRITA will be invited to submit a formal application.
