WORKSHOP ON NONLINEAR ELASTICITY
Liu Bie Ju Centre of Mathematical
Science,
CITY UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONG
6 - 9 April, 2000
CALL FOR PAPERS
With the emergence of increasingly sophisticated symbolic
manipulation packages and powerful computers, coupled with cross-fertilization with other
branches of nonlinear science, problems previously thought to be intractable can now be
solved, old unexplained phenomena explained and new phenomena predicted in nonlinear
elasticity. As we enter the new millenium, this workshop aims to provide a forum for
researchers to report their latest results and to provide a focal point for future
research. Among the topics to be covered are:
- Foundations of nonlinear elasticity
- Large elastic deformations
- Linear and nonlinear wave propagation
- Exact solutions
- Linear and nonlinear stability analysis
- Phase transition
Please express your intention to participate as soon as possible
