Recommendation of Library Materials

Users are welcome to make recommendations for the purchase of library materials. Recommendation forms are available from any service counters. Such forms should be filled out, marked with the CityU ID number and returned to the service counters. Users may also make recommendations to the Library via the Library Catalogue or the Library Web site.

Recommendation of an expensive item at or over the following amounts or of materials that involve continuous financial commitment should be countersigned by the Head (or his/her designate) or a Chair Professor of the department of the recommender:

• Books: US$220 for recommendations from the Faculty of Science & Engineering; US$170 for those from other faculties/schools/divisions
  
  
• Media resources: US$420 per title
  
  
• Serials back sets: US$600 per order per title
  
  
• All standing orders including serials subscriptions and books on standing order, irrespective of cost of mateirals
