Importing References from Library E-Resources into RefWorks

References/citations you found in Library-subscribed e-resource can be imported into RefWorks in the following ways:

  • Use the direct export function provided by the e-resource. This feature is available for some e-resources only.
  • Export the references from the e-resource to a text file and then import the references in the text file into RefWorks. To do this, you need to export the references in a format that RefWorks can read and choose the appropriate import filter when you import the data in RefWorks. As different databases organize their data in different ways, a matching import filter is required to correctly map the data in the text file to the corresponding fields in your RefWorks database.

The following table lists the import methods available for major Library-subscribed e-resources:
(For e-resources not listed here, please refer to RefWork Help pages for help.)
