This course aims to provide background knowledge for students to develop better understanding about the meaning and classification of heritages inside city environments. The course also explains the principles and practices how the concept is operated, the technicalities behind, how these valuable assets are being utilized, as well as some representing cases which can be found from an international prospective. After all, this is also a very interesting course for it covers a wide range of topics including architecture, development history of representative cities, as well as issues on culture, social, economic, and even political concerns.
