To what extent is Hong Kong a fair society? How can we create a just world? This course aims to examine major issues related to values and justice in the contemporary world. Students are exposed to fundamental concepts such as justice, the political, power, equality, fairness and consequences. The course raises students’ awareness of different perspectives on important ethical and political issues with the aid of rational arguments. Upon completion of the course, students should be able to form reasoned and informed positions in relation to ethical issues in both the local and global contexts. A variety of teaching methods, including film-watching, in-class discussions and debates, will be used to offer students space to voice and test their own views.
