Aims of Minor

This minor aims to help students in learning the art of persuasive communication in both public relations and advertising. Students learn the concepts, processes, management, and skills of integrated marketing communication environments.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Minor (MINILOs)

Upon successful completion of this Minor, students should be able to:

  1. Develop a critical and fundamental understanding of public relations and advertising practices in the digital information age
  2. Demonstrate the ability in applying basic persuasive theories in the practices of public relations and advertising
  3. Communicate more effectively with increased accuracy and appropriateness both in writing and speaking and in using new media as tools
  4. Analyze the relationship between media, the cultural infrastructure, and management of communication programmes designed to attain or maintain inter-organizational or social accord
  5. Synthesize knowledge and practical skills in ways that cultivate critical and reflective thinking.
