Abstract

The way we are using plastic is causing a global ticking time bomb. What is keeping us from doing more about this and why is it so difficult to kick the plastic habit? We will delve into what is being done now and how these “solutions” are working out for Hong Kong. By looking into a few case studies from EcoDrive, we will also explore together how we all help to do more.

Biography

One of the 11 co-founders of EcoDrive, Sherry was taught to be responsible for her actions, to reuse and not to waste from a young age. While working in the retail industry she saw first-hand the social issues involving waste and has been socially conscious ever since. As a mother of three, Sherry strongly believes in the motto: “We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children”. Sherry holds an undergraduate BA from Georgetown University, followed by masters from Yale University.
