MAR 2024
A team of four students from the College of Business (CB) at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) has won the McDonough Business Strategy Challenge (MBSC) 2024. The CB team beat business school students from 17 universities worldwide to win this non-profit case consulting competition organised by Georgetown University, US. It’s the largest such competition for undergraduates in the US.

City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) alumna Ms Grace Lau Mo-sheung took the title in Female Kata in the Karate 1 (K1) Premier League in Antalya, Turkey, on 17 March, after edging out her Japanese opponent. This Gold medal performance by Ms Lau follows her winning the Women’s Kata event in the Asia Karate Federation Senior Championships 2023.

Congratulations have poured in for alumna Ms Grace Lau Mo-Sheung after she secured the world's number one ranking in female kata. “We are proud of Grace for taking the world’s top spot in her sport,” said Professor Freddy Boey, President of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), speaking on behalf of the entire University community.

Over 800 members of the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) community united in the highly anticipated Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2024, held on 21 January, as part of the celebrations for CityUHK’s 30th anniversary as a university. CityUHK runners again ran with students with special education needs to promote social inclusion.

Congratulations to Anson Ho Kwan-kit, a student-athlete at City University of Hong Kong (CityU), and his partner Doo Hoi-kem on winning a bronze medal in the table tennis mixed doubles at the Chengdu 2023 FISU World University Games on 3 August.

Professor Freddy Boey Yin Chiang, President of CityU, together with members of the University community, have congratulated alumna Grace Lau Mo-sheung on winning a Gold medal in the Women’s Kata event in the AKF Senior Championships 2023 held in Malaysia on 21 July. Grace has made history by winning the first Gold medal in this championship for Hong Kong.
