Do you want to learn more about how to help your GE Students next semester? In particular, do you want to help them improve their reading, writing, and critical thinking in your course? The ALPINE Seminar can help you to help your students. It will be offered twice in June to interested GE teachers:
|Session 1||G5-131 (AC 1)||June 25, 2014 (WED)||10:30 am - 12 noon|
|Session 2||G5-131 (AC 1)||June 27, 2014 (FRI)||2:30 pm - 4:00 pm|
The aim of the ALPINE Seminar is to provide some background on ALPINE and academic literacy, as well as to explore some techniques with colleagues which they might consider using in their GE courses. The seminar will also be used as an opportunity to meet other GE teachers, exchange ideas, and gauge interest for starting an Action Research group on academic literacy.
This seminar is open to GE teachers and Department Heads.
The *Academic Literacy Project in English (ALPINE) operates under the auspices of the Working Group on Academic Literacy in English (WGALE) of the Department of English. It aims to facilitate academic literacy among students in GE courses.
