Call for Expression of Interest for the Inter-Institutional Collaborative Activities (IICA) Scheme under the Teaching Development Grant (TDG) in the 2022-25 Triennium

Inter-Institutional Collaborative Activities (IICA) Scheme

The UGC has always encouraged inter-institutional collaborative activities (IICA) on teaching and learning initiatives, such as best practices, pedagogy development and shared training resources. The objective of the IICA scheme is to incentivise multi-disciplinary collaborations among the UGC-funded universities for a more vibrant ecology for Hong Kong’s higher education. Information on IICA projects previously funded by the UGC can be found here.

In the 2022-25 triennium, CityU’s IICA projects will be funded through the Teaching Development Grant (TDG) administered by the Talent and Education Development (TED) Office. The Call for Expression of Interest for the IICA scheme on teaching and learning initiatives is now open:

  • CityU as the Lead University
CityU colleagues interested in leading a project under the TDG-IICA scheme may submit an Expression of Interest (Project Leader) document indicating project scope and deliverables, collaborating UGC-funded universities, particulars of Project Partners, proposed budget and duration, and collaboration plan. The funding ceiling (excluding partnership funding from collaborating universities) is HK$1 million per project. The project duration should last for no more than 30 months.
  • CityU as the Partner University
CityU colleagues interested in collaborating with another UGC-funded university as a Project Partner may submit an Expression of Interest (Project Partner) document. The funding ceiling is HK$0.3 million per project.

Internal Deadline: 15 June 2022 (late applications will not be accepted)

Please submit the Expression of Interest document to the TED Office at ted@cityu.edu.hk. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a full proposal. For any questions concerning the TDG-IICA scheme or the application procedures, please contact TDGs Aproval Panel Secretary Mr Raymond Chan at duechan@cityu.edu.hk or 3442-6740.
