Dr. Jiao received his PhD in Statistics from the University of California, Davis in 2019. Before joining City University of Hong Kong (CityU), he worked as a postdoctoral scholar at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), where he developed functional data tenhniques for analyzing neuroimaging data. His research lies at the intersection of functional data analysis (FDA) and deep learning, with a focus on developing innovative statistical tools for high-dimensional and functional datasets.
Currently, Dr. Jiao is working on novel statistical methods for analyzing the connectivity structure of multi-group functional data, with applications in neuroscience, biomedical imaging, gait analysis, and other scientific domains. Additionally, he is developing advanced diffusion models tailored for functional objects, aiming to enhance generative modeling and uncertainty quantification in infinite-dimensional spaces. His work bridges theoretical statistics with computational advancements, contributing to both methodological developments and practical data-driven solutions.
