Alec's research interests fall under the theory of complex networks and the statistical physics of urban systems. He has worked on a number of problems related to the characterization of structure in networks with metadata, statistical inference with network data, spatial socioeconomic inequality, and human mobility. He is a member of the CityU Centre for Complexity and Complex Networks (http://www.ee.cityu.edu.hk/~cccn/index.htm).
Alec received his Ph.D. degree in Physics at the University of Michigan under the supervision of Mark Newman, and his BSc degree with summa cum laude from the University of Rochester.
