Professor Liu Qiao Presented at a Virtual Roundtable Jointly Organised by the Centre for Asian Legal Studies and EW Barker Centre for Law and Business of the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore on 27 August 2020

RCCL Core Member Professor Liu Qiao spoke as an invited guest and panellist on ‘COVID-19 AND CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS: EXISTING NORMS AND LEGISLATIVE INNOVATIONS’, part of the VIRTUAL ROUNDTABLES ON ASIAN LAW SERIES jointly organised by Centre for Asian Legal Studies and EW Barker Centre for Law and Business of the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore, on 27 August 2020. He spoke about the unique judiciary-centred approach adopted by the PRC in respect of civil or commercial disputes involving the COVID-19 pandemic. The roundtable attracted more than 100 attendees and Professor Liu’s presentation generated a great deal of interests in the Chinese approach as well as the differences between the Chinese law and the common law.
