The IRF is a seed grant allocated to SKLMP CityU members of SKLMP for attracting large outside grants and bringing members together within CityU. The fund also aims to reward members with outstanding performance in research, scholarly activity, or creative endeavor, and nurture and develop research projects. Recipient(s) must be SKLMP member(s) in CityU and has publications, patents and/or prizes with SKLMP as one of the affiliations over the years.

Grants made from the fund should lead to self-sustaining, nationally competitive research programs that will address critically important environmental research problems. It is expected that successful research programs will ultimately be sustained via competitive funding sources, such as the General Research Fund (GRF), Collaborative Research Fund (CRF) and the Theme Based Research Scheme (TBRS) of the RGC, and via joining forces with our Mainland counterparts to apply for major research funding in the Mainland.

More information on the IRF and an electronic copy of the application form is available by email from Ms. May Ng (manwaing@cityu.edu.hk). The proposal submission deadline is December 8, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. (CST). Awards are expected to be announced on or around February 14, 2022.
