Programme Transfer
Students may change from their current programme of study to another of the same level. If approved, the change will take effect from the following semester/year. According to the Academic Regulations for Taught Postgraduate Degrees, a student's previous period of study before the programme transfer comes into effect will be counted in the calculation of the student's maximum period of study.
How to Apply
Applications for programme transfer are processed twice a year, normally in early November (for transfer to be effective in Semester B of the current academic year) and early March (for transfer to be effective in Semester A of the next academic year).
Students who wish to transfer to another programme may apply by completing an application form within the application period prescribed by SGS and submit it by post or in person to the SGS Service Counter, together with the required fees payment. Application forms are available at the SGS Service Counter and SGS website during the application period.
For non-local students, any transfer of programme approved by the University would be sent to the Hong Kong SAR Immigration Department for final endorsement before the transfer or the change comes into effect.
Fees Chargeable
The application fee for each programme transfer application is HK$100 (non-refundable).
