Revitalise your Cardio-Fitness

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the normal routine of the CityU community. During the lockdown period, students and staff lacked chances to exercise regularly, and our health and bodily functions deteriorated, especially for those who had contracted the virus.

As the pandemic is coming to an end, the PE Section now introduces the "Improving Cardio-Fitness via Smart Equipment Programme" to help revitalise the cardio-fitness function among the members within the CityU community.

The programme will offer the following services to the members of the CityU community, and group sessions will be run by professional Personal Trainers (PT) to help participants to improve their fitness level.
Services:
  1. Consultation session for participants with health assessment to see the health conditions of each participant;
  2. Cardio-fitness tests (Pre- & Post- VO2Max Tests) to evaluate the fitness level of each participant;
  3. An 1-hour fitness training session led by the Personal Trainer and prescribing another 1-hour self-workout session via a mobile application within a week for a total of 6-8 weeks;
  4. A post-programme evaluation will be conducted at the end of the program to collect suggestions and recommendations from the participants.
Note to participants: all health & workout data of the participants will be recorded onto a cloud platform and mobile app, which the PT will use for prescribing exercises and supervision of all exercise workouts. The participants can also use the mobile app to view their own workout data and plan their workout sessions accordingly.
