Abstract: There has been a growing interest in singular (descriptor) systems for their extensive application in control theory, circuits, economics, mechanical systems in the last twenty years.

A brief review of recent development on the nonlinear descriptor control and estimator design will be presented in this talk.

Its application to sensor fault diagnosis will be illustrated. The latest results on robust stability of singular system with nonlinear perturbation will be discussed.

(Tea, coffee and cookies will be provided at the Faculty Common Room in B6501 before the colloquium from 4:00 to 4:30 pm. Please come and join us!)
