Abstract: In this talk we discuss a model for moisture transport in porous clothing assemblies. The main objective of the talk is to demonstrate how simple scaling arguments can be used to design efficient numerical schemes. Both numerical and perturbation solutions are obtained for a one-layer fibrous medium. Extension to a three-layer clothing assemblies (e.g., a winter down jacket) will also be discussed.

(Tea, coffee and cookies will be provided at the Faculty Common Room in B6501 before the colloquium from 4:00 to 4:30 pm. Please come and join us!)
