Public Management’s faculty dedicate our education and research to improving public organization management, public service delivery, and public value. Our faculty conduct cutting-edge research with latest and exciting methodologies, deliver the latest developments in classrooms on issues including big data and information management, smart city management, sustainability management, technology management, anti-corruption, leadership, management reforms, financing of public agencies, human resource management, and public service performance.
Situated in Hong Kong, an international city with great research and educational opportunities, our programmes have gone much beyond to establish a global perspective that stresses international exchange and connectedness in the Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America and between public, nonprofit and private organizations and over time. This comparative outlook reflects through, for example, the Laboratory for Public Management and Policy (LaMP) where public management scholars work with policy researchers to solve problems of management and policy.
The work of our faculty has been recognized in many ways. Most recently public administration has been placed 1st in Asia and 27th in the world by Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020. Also, we are ranked 39th in the world in the 2021 QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) World University Rankings by Subject in Social Policy & Administration.
