Celebration of Physics - PHY Annual Symposium 2022 [Register Now!]

The Department is going to organize the “Celebration of Physics” – the 4th PHY Annual Symposium for PHY students via Zoom on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022.

The Annual PHY Symposium “Celebration of Physics” aims to provide a platform for our students and faculties to celebrate their achievements in the past academic year.  This annual event has become an essential and integral part of our department’s tradition.

During this event, we will have poster sessions for both undergraduate and postgraduate students so that they can present the most exciting results from their own research projects.

Apart from the online poster sessions, we have prepared a strong scientific program this year featuring four talks from our own faculty members and three talks from external speakers. This year’s external speakers include Prof. Kui Jin from Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Dr. Beatrice Soh from Institute of Materials Research & Engineering, Singapore, and Prof. Marlan Scully (Keynote speaker) from Texas A&M University, United States. Their talks cover a wide range of topics, including polymer physics of DNA, superconductivity, and quantum optics. In particular, the title of the Keynote talk is Of Bose condensates, squeezed light, and black holes. It will be delivered by Prof. Marlan Scully, who is a world-renowned physicist recognized for his lifetime leadership in groundbreaking research on quantum physics and optics. We believe that this year’s scientific program will provide our students with a rare opportunity to interact with some of the best scientists in the world. Please refer to the details of the program below.

We strongly encourage all students and faculty members to attend this event. See you all on Wednesday, 1 June 2022!
