ABSTRACT
The development of quantum thermodynamics has stimulated research on finite-time thermodynamics, especially on the constraint between efficiency and power and their optimization. The extent to which optimization is achievable is determined by the degree of irreversibility produced in the process. We will show the impact of irreversibility on the performance of thermal motors and demonstrate our experimental effort to test one of the basic assumptions on irreversibility.
BIOGRAPHY
Prof. Hui Dong received his bachelor’s degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 2006, and Ph. D. degree from Institute of Theoretical Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011. After the postdoc in UC Berkeley (2011-2015) and Texas A&M (2015-2017), he joined Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Engineering Physics (Beijing). His research focus on advanced spectroscopy with quantum light and quantum thermodynamics.
