The World Health Organization (WHO), World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) jointly held an expert workshop in Geneva, from 26 to 28 February 2018, to further advance the development of the Tripartite Zoonoses Guide (TZG) and discuss overarching issues and specific topics related to the TZG content. It will support countries in implementing collaborative, multisectoral "One Health" approaches for the detection, risk assessment and response to health events in order to meet their obligations under the International Health Regulations. The TZG will provide a set of agreed standard operational tools to guide countries in the implementation of collaborative, multisectoral approaches, and it will update the 2008 Tripartite "Zoonotic Diseases: A Guide to Establishing Collaboration between Animal and Human Health Sectors at the Country Level". Prof Dirk Pfeiffer from City University participated in the workshop as a member of the topic area working group responsible for the joint risk assessment chapter in the TZG.
