9 March 2018

Prof. Pfeiffer (Chair Professor of One Health) was an invited guest speaker at the ‘Veterinary Public Health (VPH) Workshop’ organised by the Centre for Food Safety of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department of Hong Kong SAR in December 2017.

The VPH Workshop is held annually for government officials from a variety of disciplines to raise awareness and acquire knowledge on the latest issues related to veterinary public health and food safety. The topic of this workshop was ‘Inspection and Food Safety Concern from Farm to Meat Processing Plant’.

The Centre for Food Safety is a leading government authority that is responsible for regulating food industries and promoting food safety in Hong Kong. It aims to raise awareness of the control of food safety for foods of animal origin and the collaborations in multiple disciplines of health care in safeguarding public health.

Prof. Pfeiffer gave two talks, one entitled “From Risk Analysis to Risk Governance” and the other “Role of Food Systems in One Health”.
