The department would like to welcome Dr David Williams who is joining us as a Visiting Associate Professor to teach part of the ‘Animal Welfare’ course in the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine programme.
Dr Williams, associate lecturer at Cambridge University and a fellow of St John’s College, Cambridge, UK, has qualified from Cambridge Veterinary School, UK, and has worked at a number of British institutions including the Animal Health Trust and the Royal Veterinary College where he gained his PhD.
He currently runs the ophthalmology clinic at Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital (QVSH), Cambridge, UK, where he also lectures in ophthalmology and animal welfare and ethics.
He is a diplomate of the European College of Animal Welfare and Ethics and says he looks forward tremendously to teaching the veterinary students who he says even after just the first day’s teaching ‘are clearly a bright and enthusiastic bunch!’
