Professor Zhu Yuntian elected Fellow of National Academy of Inventors

Professor Zhu Yuntian (MSE) has been elected Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) for his significant influence to the economic development and the welfare of society. This is the highest professional distinction accorded solely to academic inventors.     Professor Zhu is an experimentalist with a primary interest in the fundamental aspects of materials science and designing materials with superior strength and ductility. His research focuses on deformation mechanisms at the dislocation level and mechanical behaviours of heterostructured and nano/ultrafine-grained materials.  Professor Zhu is also one of the top 2% scientists in the world, according to Stanford University rankings.
