November has been dubbed InternatioNovember by the International and Non-local Students Office to promote cultural exchange between countries.
Students from CityU and Tianjin University engaged in a debating competition entitled "Does economic globalisation result in cultural globalisation?" on 17 July to examine the interaction of Eastern and Western cultural influences in Hong Kong and Tianjin.
Five outstanding students were selected by The Dragon Foundation to participate in the Global Citizenship Programme in Switzerland and US under the theme “Ethical Interdependence”.
A National Tsing Hua University delegation visited CityU on 9 July. Professor Way Kuo, President of CityU, and other administrators welcomed the delegation and shared views on administration and university governance.
INSO and the CityU Buddy Scheme staged a high-table farewell dinner for exchange and non-local students on 24 April. Typifying the internationalisation of the campus, students exchanged stories and impressions of their experiences studying at CityU.
CityU organised a Chinese New Year Fair on 21 February in the Student Residence to enhance students’ knowledge of Chinese traditional festivals and culture.
A reception was held on 16 January to greet 135 exchange students from 15 different areas around the world as they start their new life at CityU.

Over 100 local and non-local students celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival at the Joint-hall Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration co-organized by the Student Residence Office and Halls of Residence of the Student Development Services on 5 October.
