CityU has admitted 400 students from the mainland since last year. They aspire to make the best use of their time at CityU to lay a solid foundation for their future.
Some 50 CityU students have formed four teams to compete in the Robocon 2005 Hong Kong Contest. They will show off their robotic creations, which are sure to impress the judges.
Twenty-three Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) students have formed two teams to enter the Robocon Hong Kong Contest -- Lovers' Reunion on 20 June. The winning team in the Hong Kong contest will represent Hong Kong at the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2004 (ABU Robocon) in Seoul, Korea, in September.
Because of the outbreak of SARS, also known as atypical pneumonia, City University, together with its seven local counterparts, suspended classes for two weeks, from 29 March to 13 April. Although the situation seemed alarming, the two-week suspension was an unexpected holiday for many CityU students, especially for the non-local students who live in halls.
