About 300 guests, staff and students turned out on 16 January for the naming ceremony of the first residential block of City University's Student Hostels Project. The block was named the Jockey Club Humanity Hall, in honour of the generous contribution made by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust towards the development of the student residences.
In a festive and jubilant mood, more than 250 alumni came home to CityU to mingle with each other, catch up with their professors and mentors and, above all, learn more about the latest developments at their alma mater.
The CityU Alumni Association and the Alumni Affairs and Development Office (AADO) brought more than 60 alumni together on 17 July so that University alumni and students can get to know each other better and extend their networks.
Committed to helping the cause of CityU, a dozen University alumni formed the 2002 CityU Alumni Association Executive Committee under incoming Chairman Patrick Lee, who pledged that he and his committee would devote themselves to uniting CityU's alumni in support of University development.
