The Proud of 20 team completed the 100-km charity walk,7 November, making a record for CityU. Proud of 20 completed a 100-km charity walk early Sunday morning on 7 November, achieving a record when 30 CityU staff, alumni and students walked in unison across the finishing line.
Just one week before their charity walk across the 100-km MacLehose Trail, the Proud of 20 team pledged at this year's CityU Banquet, 29 October,to make the University proud and appealed for more staff and students to help the group set a record for CityU.

Dear Colleagues: Almost half a year has passed since I last shared with you the progress of our quest for donations. As the end-of-June deadline of the Government Matching Grant Scheme (MGS) is approaching, I have received more enquiries than ever about how much money CityU has raised so far in relation to the Scheme.
To honour a handsome donation to CityU by Dr Tin Ka Ping, the University named Lecture Theatre 1 after the distinguished industrialist and philanthropist today. A plaque engraved with Dr Tin's motto was unveiled at the ceremony. The motto,“To help others, you are helping yourself. To help develop others, you must first develop yourself", lies behind Dr Tin's ongoing support for the University.
Over 1,000 alumni, their families, students and staff attended the Chan Tai Ho Multi-purpose Hall for Caring Night on 1 September. More than a homecoming gathering, the event marked the launch of two initiatives-the Alumni Ambassadors Scheme and Alumni Giving Club -- to realize the twin goals of "Caring by serving." and "Caring by Giving".
More than 110 alumni and guests gathered at City University on 6 March to hear Mr Or Ching-fai, General Manager of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, share his views and experiences on handling employer-employee relations during the current economic downturn. The "Happy Gathering" was organized by the City University Alumni Association and the Development and Alumni Relations Office.
