As part of its bid to enrich the learning experience, CityU encourages students to take part in its Student Exchange Programme. Under this scheme, students are eligible to apply for Student Exchange Fund (SEF) sponsorship to study in one of CityU's partner institutions for one or two semesters. Successful SEF candidates receive support up to a maximum of 50% of the total costs incurred for passage, accommodation and incidental charges.

Five CityU teachers have made their mark this year. The 2002 Teaching Excellence Awards (TEA) winners were selected on the virtue of their teaching skills, promotion of the University's teaching culture and the ability to keep students up-to-date in their subject areas, said Professor K S Chiang, Panel Chair of the TEA Scheme and Associate Head of the Department of Electronic Engineering.
On 25 November, seven days after the Independent Committee (IC) submitted a report on the recent events in the School of Law (SLW), the Council, decided unanimously to accept the IC's major findings and recommendations, but added a few caveats.
