Despite the drizzle in Hong Kong just before the Chinese New Year, President Way Kuo of City University of Hong Kong distributed lucky gift packs in person at the Student Residence on 10 February.

Exactly one year ago, an innovative online learning platform was rolled out at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) in record time in response to the Covid-19 epidemic.

The Dialogue Series with Consuls General series organised by the Office of the Vice-President (Student Affairs) at CityU was held on 11 November.

CityU resumes partial face-to-face teaching starting today. President Way Kuo joined 14 senior management members, deans of colleges and schools, and over 500 students to celebrate the new semester on 26 September.

In view of the latest development of the pandemic, CityU provides opportunity for students who are adversely affected to continue their studies and/or research projects at CityU as visiting students. The deadline of the application for the scheme for Semester A 2020-21 has been extended to 3 August 2020.

Students at CityU have been continuing their studies during the coronavirus epidemic thanks to CityU’s online learning platform, called CityU-Learning.

Five students under mandatory quarantine received online visits from Professor Way Kuo, CityU President; Chief-of-Staff and Dean of Students.

An online achievement exhibition launched in January displayed the works and accomplishment of the “Jockey Club Enhancing Youth Empathy Project through Immersive Visualisation”, organised by CityU and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.

Staff and students were given a very warm welcome when they returned to campus at the start of the new semester on 13 January at CityU.

The CityU squash team won the men’s overall championship, as well as the championship and 1st runner-up in the men’s singles in the elite group of the 3rd All China University Squash Competition in China.
