The Greater Bay Area Joint Laboratory of Big Data Imaging and Communications has been established by the Department of Electrical Engineering and the State Key Laboratory of Terahertz and Millimeter Waves at CityU.
Kangaroo research
A research team led by a scientist at CityU has discovered that kangaroos can intentionally communicate with humans, challenging the notion that this behaviour is usually restricted to domesticated animals like dogs, horses or goats.
CityU hosted a roundtable forum to promote discussion on the issue of poverty in Hong Kong on 23 February. Speakers included local and overseas academics, Government officials and representatives from social services and policy research organisations.
The Smart Ambience Therapy developed by CityU’s AIMtech Centre has become an exhibit at the Hong Kong Science Museum. The exhibit’s opening ceremony was held on 22 February.
Consumer satisfaction in 2007 hit a record high of 70.2, up 0.1% from 2006 with a considerable drop in the Food & Drink category, according to a survey conducted by CityU’s Department of Management Sciences.
